I hired A1 Exterminators for a rodent issue in my 3-family home based on a friend’s recommendation. They initially quoted around $500 for traps and equipment, with $125 per follow-up visit every two months — which I agreed to. After only two visits, they stopped coming without notice. When I called to ask why, I was told I didn’t have a signed contract — something they never mentioned upfront — and that’s why the service stopped. They offered to send a technician, which I agreed to, and made sure a tenant would be there to give access. Weeks passed with no follow-up. I had to call multiple times and was repeatedly promised callbacks that never came. Eventually, a technician did an inspection, but the email I received was vague and unclear. When I asked for next steps, I was told I’d need to sign a new contract and pay another $550–$600 (plus $125 per visit) — despite having already paid a similar amount for the same service. To make matters worse, I later received a $152 bill for an estimate, which was never discussed or disclosed in advance. This entire experience was frustrating, unprofessional, and disappointing. Poor communication, inconsistent service, and surprise fees — I would not recommend A1 Exterminators to anyone.

Everything worked out as planned. Due to cancellations we were able to get the job done a few hours early. The person that did the work was very professional and efficient. We are insect free so far!

I'm so glad Michael is still here with A1. He is beyond thorough and so kind as he does his service. Then we did A1 South Shore and also experienced great service. Highly recommend.

I highly recommend A1 Exterminators. They terminated an underground yellow jacket nest in my back yard that was very close to my patio. I want to thank Mary for working diligently to schedule my appointment as soon as possible so I could host an outdoor luncheon on my patio that had been planned two months earlier.

A Friend recommend A1 a couple years ago ..So far so good! I am choosing the recurring visits as our history shows this is necessary to keep mice at bay. Plus covers other issues like bees and ants which we have seasonally too. Mike was great didn’t even know he was there at times as we had the plumber over at same time. He was quiet as a Mouse but did his job nicely and effectively he spoke with me about everything and asked questions as needed I felt he really cared about fixing our issue .. he also advised us when to follow up .. Id request him back next time ..

A1 has taken care of any and all pest problems since we bought our old, deserted home on Cape Cod seventeen years ago. The structure was full of carpenter ants, carpenter bees and termites, and we found the remains of mice in walls, basement and crawl spaces. They "cleaned house" and have been on annual retainer for all pest services, including mosquito control in the summer. A1 is always on time, the service technicians are pleasant and willing to listen and answer any questions I have. Calls to their office are answered quickly by a friendly, knowledgeable person. We have never had an issue or a reason to complain, so it is a pleasure to leave this glowing review!

Our experience has been very good over a couple of years. Tony, has been extraordinary at providing and suggesting specific details that have made a difference. I would give Tony a 10/10 rating. Pricing seems to be higher than most other local companies. I would like to see a complete plan more conducive to periodic needs. Tony services our exterior monthly and interior as needed. I’d like to get a quarterly inside review to supplement the monthly exterior reviews. Exterior review and treatment has made a significant difference.
