A tech from Smithereen first came out to our house on Feb. 28th because we were seeing swarming termites. Since then, they've installed bait stations around the house and sprayed for termites, but the infestation continues to get worse. This morning (April 19th) was the largest outbreak yet. They were flying and crawling all over our bathroom, dining room, and kitchen. They are coming thru the light fixtures, furnace registers, and walls. It crazy, but we're told to just vacuum them up. They need to thoroughly spray in the attic above these rooms, but don't really seem like they want to do that. They have sprayed in the attic around the furnace and in some walls. For nearly $1,500, I expected them to at least slowly go away, but it's been two months, and it's getting worse. You may consider hiring someone other than Smithereen Pest Control. Update: They sent some experts from their Danville office. These guys agreed it was a bad infestation and actually dug a small trench around the house and treated the soil. They also sprayed more in the attic. Since then, we've had a couple of small outbreaks that we treated ourselves, but hopefully, the situation is getting better.

Just had my first visit with Micheal, he was very nice explained everything he was doing. Was very helpful. I am having ants, spiders issues as well as a mouse he gave me some tips and pointers. Was very happy with this experience and will definitely continue using them. Office staff is great as well very nice! Highly recommend them!

Just a quick comment regarding our tech Ryan. He was here this morning. Always listens to my request. Very good at listening. This morning I fell while he was here. Thank God he hadn’t left yet because I couldn’t get up without help. He was so kind and helpful. He finished his outside spraying and came back to make sure I was ok before he left. We have been customers for several years now and have been generally satisfied with the results of services we have received (reducing the pest problems in the house). However, we have requested to have both indoor and outside work done at the same time which has not always happened. While we were out of town this past spring some outside services were done but no inside services done because no one was home to open the door. However, we were charged for both indoor and outdoor services. On September 11th a representative of Smithereen came to provide both indoor and outdoor services. We were busy with guests. The service person told us that he had all of the information on his phone and didn't need any assistance. It turned out that he needed assistance in finding every trap we have in the house. We would welcome a better system to be put in place in which the homeowner doesn't bear the responsibility of making sure the job gets done. This seems to be on ongoing issue. We are questioning if we want to continue with your company.

I contacted them for a pest inspection for a home loan and was quoted 250 dollars. Two other "LOCAL" competitors came in at 95. To charge more than double is incredible! They should have never changed from Liberty, please do your research and stay local before spending your money with this Chicago based company!
